Creating a Wallet
Overview
Alpaca uses a non-custodial wallet, meaning you—and only you—control your assets and private keys.
Neither Alpaca nor Keeta has access to your funds, recovery phrase, or wallet activity.
Your wallet operates directly on the Keeta decentralized network, with all transactions occurring peer-to-peer—no centralized custody, no intermediaries.
What “Non-Custodial” Means
When you create a wallet in Alpaca:
- You receive a 24-word recovery phrase (seed phrase)
- This phrase proves full ownership of your wallet on the blockchain
- Anyone with this phrase can access your funds
Your 24-word recovery phrase is the ONLY way to restore your wallet.
- Never screenshot it
- Never store it in Notes, iCloud, Google Drive, or email
- Never share it with anyone
Write it down on paper or store it offline in a secure location.
Cross-App Wallet Access
The same 24-word recovery phrase can be used to restore your wallet in:
- Alpaca Wallet (iOS)
- Keeta Wallet
This gives you full cross-app access while maintaining complete decentralization and self-custody.

To confirm ownership, you must re-enter the same 24 words in the correct order.

This step ensures your backup is correct.
Wallet Home Screen
After verification, your wallet opens automatically.
- Your balance may initially be 0
- Your wallet is now fully active on the Keeta network
To access advanced options, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.
Mainnet vs Testnet
In Settings → Keeta Network, you can switch between networks.
Mainnet
- Real Keeta network
- Real assets with real value
- Requires real KTA for fees and swaps
Testnet
- Sandbox environment
- Uses test tokens with no real value
- Ideal for learning, testing, and experimentation
Summary
Creating a wallet in Alpaca gives you full control over your assets with no intermediaries or custodians. Your recovery phrase is your proof of ownership and your responsibility to protect.
With support for both Mainnet and Testnet, Alpaca lets you securely manage real assets—or safely experiment—while staying fully decentralized on the Keeta network.
