Unlinking vs. Deleting a Wallet

Alpaca DEX uses Keeta-native, fully non-custodial wallets. This is a fundamental difference from traditional banking apps.

When you use Alpaca, your wallet is not stored on our servers. It lives directly on the Keeta blockchain. Therefore, you cannot "delete" a wallet by removing it from the app—you can only "unlink" it.

What "Unlinking" Actually Does

Unlinking simply disconnects the Alpaca interface from your wallet address.

  • App View: The wallet disappears from your list in the Alpaca app.
  • On-Chain Reality: The wallet still exists permanently on the Keeta blockchain.
  • Your Funds: All tokens, LP positions, and transaction history remain untouched and safe on the network.

Nothing is lost, nothing is deleted, and nothing moves. You are just closing the "window" through which you viewed your funds.

How to Recover an Unlinked Wallet

Because your wallet exists on the blockchain (and not on our phone), you can restore access to it at any time, from anywhere in the world.

To regain access, you simply need your 24-word seed phrase.

You can reconnect by:

  1. Re-importing the seed phrase inside the Alpaca App.
  2. Logging in directly at wallet.keeta.com (or any other compatible Keeta wallet) using the same seed phrase.
Critical Security Warning

Your Seed Phrase is the Only Key.

Because Alpaca is non-custodial, we cannot reset your password or recover your funds.

  • If you unlink your wallet and lose your seed phrase, your funds are lost forever.
  • Alpaca support never has access to your private keys and cannot help you recover them.

Creating a New Wallet

If you unlink your current wallet and create a brand new one, you haven't replaced the old one. You now simply own two separate wallets.

  1. Wallet A (Old): Still exists on-chain, holds your old funds. Accessible via its specific seed phrase.
  2. Wallet B (New): Empty, ready for new transactions. Accessible via its new seed phrase.

You can switch between them freely or import both into the app at the same time. As long as you have the seed phrase for a wallet, you have total control over it.
